I try to start my truck and nothing happens. It's sitting on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. I open up the hood and the engine is gone; apparently while it was parked there, somebody stole the engine.

So I call my brother David, who is good with cars, and tell him that my "check engine" light came on. That's a pretty good joke, I think - he'll check the engine and see that it is missing. I close the hood and wait for him.

He arrives but doesn't open the hood and check the engine. Instead he says that we can just roll it, it's all downhill to town where he can take a look, and he starts rolling it down the road. We get a ways away and I'm not sure whether to give up on my joke or let it keep riding, but I mention that we left his truck back there on the side on the road, he should probably drop me off and I can run back and get it.
