I'm leading a group on a hike in the woods. We've arrived at a place that is familiar to me in the dream; I've been there before. The destination is just across a gully or something, we can see a street and a store or restaurant, but we just can't get there. One way is a very difficult rock wall, which a very skilled climber could perhaps traverse, but certainly not me or anyone in my group. Above that is a sort of fin that looks like you could sort of swing around it like one sometimes does in rock climbing, but I've tried that before and it didn't work. Although our destination seems close, we have to go a long way down and around to get there.

Another scene, I'm arriving finally at my car, which looks like a yellow Ford Pinto, parked on the side of the road in a deserty-looking place, after an outdoor adventure, maybe the hike above, but the timeline is discontinuous. When I get in the car, I realize that it's on, and I rev the engine to verify that it is running. Apparently I left it idling the whole time.
