I'm working in the grill at a McDonald's, but instead of a tight, efficiently designed space, it's a vast, cavernous, grey warehouse. The cooking area where I work is hundreds of feet away from the front area where the orders are taken. I walk up there to see what I should cook, and I ask where is the "bin" (I don't think they have these any more, but when I worked at McDonald's in the 80's, it was where the hot food was stored temporarily so that it could be provided instantly, and the amount of stock in the bin would determine what you needed to make next), and they say you just have to ask the manager up there what to make. I have to walk all the way up there and ask them what to make? That's crazy. Anyway, I need to make some chicken sandwiches with black buns (Wiley had a burger with a black bun in Newport a couple weeks ago). I know how to make those, I just need to walk all the way back to the cooking area.
