Tough Test and Rock MountainfritzDec 2, 2007

I'm taking a test, and the first question is presented by the teacher in another language, possibly German. I don't know what the question means, and can't hear it very well, so I can't answer it and I get kind of mad and argue that it's not fair because I can't understand the question. The teacher just repeats it the same way, as though it is fair and I should understand. I say angrily "fine then, I'll just skip the first question and get it wrong", as if in protest.

Another student is whispering something to me, and I can't hear him either. I'm frustrated, and I wonder if I'm going deaf. He shows me the answer in the testbook, and it's like a panel of a cartoon in which the question is asked exactly as the teacher asked it, so if we'd read the cartoon we should know the answer even if we didn't understand the question.

Later I'm climbing a mountain, and it's all interesting rockwork. I'm climbing just fine, but I'm wondering if it's safe, because there's no protection and it looks like a long way to fall. I don't know if we should continue.
