I awaken in my room, which is empty except for a computer in the corner. Chris is there, and she says that she decided to get me some lions for my house. During the night, she bought one on craigslist, a cat-sized stuffed one, yellow with a bright red mane. I'm not sure what I think about filling the house with lions.

Then Minda arrives with Abel, who is going to be staying with me for the day. Apparently I forgot I had this appointment, but there it is on my calendar. I shouldn't have planned something else at the same time as trying to babysit him.

In front of my house is a large porch, and Abel busies himself reading a book or something out there. Then I notice some spiderwebs just inside the door of my house. It's still duskily dark (early in the morning), but I get a flashlight and shine it on the cobwebs, and they really shine in its direct light, like a spotlight. It's a huge structure, with various rooms and corridors, suspended to the side of my front door, all the way from the floor to the ceiling. It's very interesting, but I can see ants living in there and I can't let them live there. I'm going to vacuum the whole thing up, but first I want to show it to Abel, who is still reading on the porch.
