Scott's Mom at the Music StorefritzJan 12, 2008

I'm with Scott's mom at a musical instrument or technology store, where I've apparently met her to help pick something for Scott. To make up for the hassle of having to do that, I ask her to buy a couple small things for me, and she says that's fine. Then I find a third thing that I want and that makes things awkward; they're all just a few dollars, and it hardly makes sense to make another transaction out of it, but it seems like I'm adding to the pile. Then she makes no attempt to pay for any of it, which makes the situation even more awkward.

There is a computer monitor there and it's demonstrating a program that can teach you to play almost any instrument. I'm excited about it, and ask if it can teach tabla. I scroll through the available instruments, and indeed tabla is there! It shows pictures of a lot of strange tablas, with huge bass drums and little drums attached in various ways, and I proclaim how strange this is, since I only new about ones with two little drums.
