Car Chase and Semi-Friendly MonkeysfritzJan 27, 2008

I'm a passenger in a car driven by this woman who is running away from somebody. She is driving very fast on neighborhood roads, slipping around muddy corners. She clips a mailbox with the rear of the car. I can't see who is chasing us, but I think she should turn onto alternate roads where they won't be able to find us.

Somebody catches up with us on a motorcycle, and it is a character played by Nick Nolte. I tell the woman "stop, it's the Nick Nolte guy", who is apparently a cop or otherwise on our side.

She stops the car and we are greeted by several of Nick's friends who give us a big box of donuts, but we don't really want any. We go back to driving fast.

Later I'm in my house on Garden Home Road, and suddenly a bunch on monkeys have invaded the neighborhood. At first they are black-faced langurs, then some small macaques. Everybody is afraid of them, and hides inside where they can't get us. My dog Timmy walks right past one of the monkeys, and they seem to ignore each other.

They were in the back yard, but now they're coming through the window into the dining room, and whoever is there has set up a low barricade so they can't get into the living room and hides there watching them.

I step over the barricade, saying "I'm going to see what's up with these monkeys", to approach them and see if they're friendly. A small one, maybe 6 pounds, passes by me and I reach out to it. It doesn't seem to mind, even likes to be petted on its balding head. But it's like a testy cat; likes being petted, but can't help attacking a little bit too, and it bites me gently but I can feel that it didn't pierce the skin.

At some point later I'm driving a three-wheeler out at my parents', thinking this is really the way to drive. There are puddles in the grass everywhere, and I have to figure which ones are shallow enough for me to get through. My truck has thin red dust all over the inside of it for some reason.
