Aren't You Late?fritzApr 16, 2008

It is morning, and Sheleen is at my house, getting ready for work. I'm about to leave for work also, but I'm lingering around waiting for her to be finished. My house is a ranch-style place with a flower bed along the driveway, and while waiting, I start weeding. The weeds, which are just in clumps in certain places among tall shrubs, look rather difficult, but they come right up when I pull them, and it looks much better. I'm making pretty good progress.

I look at my watch and suddenly realize that it is 9:35; I should have left for work already, and Sheleen should be long gone. I ask her if she isn't rather late for work, but the radio is playing loud and I can't understand what she's saying. The radio is on the wall by the flower bed, and I go try to turn it off, but I can't find the off button. I try to talk to her again, but again the radio interrupts and I can't understand what she's saying. By way of explaining why she isn't going to work, she says that she has a "curfew", and I'm not sure what she means.
