I'm playing chess with Scott. I've set up a trap wherein he takes my knight on his 2nd rank, and he takes it. The consequence is that I take his rook with another piece. I'm anxious to take it, but I wait patiently for the required time to make sure he is sure of his move. He spots it and takes it back to look at it again. But then he goes ahead and makes the expected move.

Then I take his piece, but it turns out to be my blunder. The piece I wanted to capture with was actually his piece. My whole idea made no sense at all, and he takes the advantage.

He gloats, and I comment that I let him take back his move, and he didn't give me the same courtesy.
