I'm riding a scooter - the kind like a skateboard with handlebars in Southeast Portland. I start at about 39th or so. I'm planning to ride all the way home in the dark, and I am worrying about Milou, who is following me loosely as cats do, shadow to shadow.

I come to Wade's old house on 13th and Salmon, and notice that my truck is parked there. Well, I'll just drive that home then, I think, and anyway it'll save me a trip coming out here to get it later. Milou and I get in.
