Gifts of the Lollipop WarfritzMar 9, 2009

First I'm in the lobby of a movie theater, where Scott and I have come to see a movie. All the choices look like standard Hollywood fare, none of them something I want to see. But, I think, it worked before, so we'll try it again, and just pick one randomly, an action flick, I think.

Then I'm in a war called the "Lollipop War", but I just got there with some companions, and we don't have any guns yet. We're not sure what to do, still trying to find our place and our instructions. We are taken to this wooded area that is apparently our headquarters, and we go up onto this second-floor balcony, outside, killing time waiting for somebody.

Suddenly a tall and large blonde man comes sort of running up, in a very insane way, rolling his head on his neck, with his eyes all crossed and strange, and his limbs splayed like he's having a nervous attack. Then we see that he has a pistol in one hand, and I think that in a war zone like this, that's enough to get somebody taken down. I would think somebody would shoot him, but none of us have any guns.

Still acting crazy, he squeezes off a few shots at us, one of which whizzes right past my head, and we dodge and scatter. I come in close to him to try to take the gun away, and end up knocking his arm just as he is firing a shot, and pinning his hand to his neck so that he shoots himself right up through the bottom of his chin and dies.

So we mill around on the balcony for a while longer, and then a thin Vietnamese-looking man shuffles up, ushering along a pretty young Asian girl dressed in a colorful blue kimono like a geisha. He shields his face from us as if he expects hostility, but pushes the girl up on the balcony with us, repeating "Lollipop War, Lollipop War", in a thick accent, like he doesn't know English but has learned just this one phrase, and this gift is being identified as part of the war game.
