I've just finished having lunch with some friends, and we're getting into somebody's pickup truck, on the passenger side. One is my friend Monte (who also seems like an old schoolmate Faith), who is complaining about never getting laid. I ask in a teasing way "so, how long has it been since you've been with a girl - or a guy, or whatever it is you're into?"

He was just climbing through the truck door, but suddenly he disappears, as if I just blinked and he was gone. I think he went to get some cigarettes. Somebody else (Rod?) gets in ahead of me, but he climbs over the back seat into the cargo space, and I scoot over next to the driver, a small girl named Sheryl. I say "oh great, so now I have to sit next to stinky little you..."
