I've bought a drag-racing car from a friend, as though in a package deal with something else that I bought. It feels almost as though I got it for free, but somebody suggests that I haven't even paid for it yet, and it might be expensive. I'm not sure I would buy it outright, but I'm pretty excited about having it.

It is really long and narrow and light. The back end sticks out really far, such that I'm concerned that when I back out, it will be difficult to avoid hitting something. But I find that it is adjustable, so I collapse it down to a more manageable length, and can now maneuver out onto the road.

This thing is designed to go straight, fast, so once I get it lined up on the road, I am excited to try accelerating it. I try it, but it bursts forward for about a second and then sputters out and can barely propel itself at all. I try this several times. The thing is clearly broken, and I'll have to talk to my friend about fixing it.

I seem to be at work, seemingly in a basement parking lot, and now I can't get home since my racing car is broken. I think I have a child to transport as well.
