I'm watching the slightly imperfect man woo a girl who seems much better than him, too good for him. But suddenly he pulls away her dress, and one of her legs is a short deformed stub, not even as long as her opposite thigh, with an ugly twisted foot.

It seems like TV, and somebody with me turns and says loudly "Sarah!", as if scolding a child for being so brazen as to watch.
