I'm at a counter, like in an old greasy restaurant. I'm hungry for a sandwich, and trying to order, but I'm having some sort of argument with the guy behind the counter. I think I asked him if I can have salad with that, and he said "no". I don't understand that answer, because whether it comes with anything or not, surely there would be some option of having a salad on the side. But no, he insists that the sandwich comes with nothing, and there is simply no way to have a salad with that. He frustratedly lists some of the options on the menu, like "look, bro, you can have this or this or this..."

So I say "sure, I'll have one of those", referring to a ham-and-cheese submarine sandwich that he last referred to, and also a polish sausage sandwich for later. I eat the ham and cheese, which is warm and good, and he packs the sausage one in a to-go box. I take it with me, but I'm not sure I'll eat it, since it doesn't really sound good any more. I imagine it sitting endlessly in my fridge.
