Sydney (my dog) has a broken neck, like where her head comes almost entirely off her body, revealing an open circle of bones. I think it might have been because of something I did, twisting her head too exuberantly while playing, or something, but she doesn't seem to mind. If I set her head on, she seems quite normal, but I can pull it off and put things down her throat, which seems very convenient for giving her medicine.

But then she gets in the water, and I realize that the water is going right into her unsealed neck, and will drown her if I don't do something about it. Then I feel sad for her, because it seems like a critical injury.
