I'm traveling with Julie, and we've come to see the Crystal Caverns. This is a hugely popular attraction, and though we arrive early in the morning, there are hundreds of people trying to get in. The waiting area is inside, apparently underground, in a large, loud white room with all square walls, metal stairs and nothing pleasant. You have to wait in several lines, first for tickets, then something else, and then to finally get in. The Crystal Caverns are supposed to be spectacular, but these lines and crowds are painfully irritating, and it's very wearying to stand there all day.

We work the process until lunchtime, at which point we have the opportunity to step out, in between lines. We go to Sheleen's house, because she has graciously offered to fix us lunch. Then we go back to the crowds and lines.

I never did get to see any Crystal Caverns.
