The announcement is just coming in on the public address system as I'm walking across a field toward three women in business suits, who are sitting listening for the results. It was a success! One of the woman is apparently my girlfriend, and I had advised her to take the chosen course of action, but it was risky. She really put herself on the line on my advise, and it worked out great!

I'm still 30 or 40 feet from the women, and my girlfriend picks up her hands from her lap and motions subtly but excitedly with her arms, to come quickly - she wants to give me a hug. I pick up my pace a little but try not to be obvious, then get to her and hug her.

The hug turns into a passionate kiss, which feels awkward because standing up, she is taller than I. Physically, it seems like an odd position. After a minute I stop and say "well, I guess our secret's out, then" apparently having been hidden from the other two professional women. But then I see that we're alone in a bare room, and nobody can see us. "Oh, I guess it isn't", I say.
