I'm taking Sydney for a walk, and she needs some water. I stop at a nice yard, where it seems I always stop for this purpose, and I go around to the side yard and detach a hose to get some water out.

While I'm doing that, the lady of the house comes to the screen door and begins to ask what I'm doing, and then she realizes and is very friendly. She shows me a different water spigot around the front of the house that is easier to access, and welcomes Sydney and I to use it.

Apparently last time I was here, I left a stack of papers, one of which is a flyer with very large letters "EMC" on it, referring to the EMC lab. The lady invites me in while she grabs the papers, then asks me what I have to do with the EMC lab, which she seems very familiar with, and I tell her that I'm an electrical engineer. "Oh!" she says, "then you have to hear this!" and goes to the keyboard of a grand piano and starts picking out a strange tune that I don't recognize.

I don't really get it. I ask her what she has to do with the EMC lab.

(I haven't given any attention to the EMC lab lately, in fact have never been there. Though, just a couple days ago, Sydney pooped in somebody's yard at nearly midnight, and when I went there to clean it up a guy came out and asked "Can I help you?". I just explained that I was picking up the dog poop, but it occurred to me that I should have said "Sure... here, you want to pick up this poop?")
