I'm on a boat at night, as if going scuba diving, but it is some sort of work function. I'm sitting in the back of the boat with several colleagues, heading out to sea, when very suddenly it plunges under the water and sinks.

I'm left treading water with three others. I quickly ask who is wearing a BCD (a Buoyancy Control Device, basically a flotation jacket, used in scuba diving), and two of my companions have them, so they can float unassisted. I find some yellow flotation device and instruct the other girl to hold onto it with me. Soon a boat comes and tows us into shore, quickly, as though we're water skiing on our floats.

We wait in a cabin. Soon a girl comes in who seems like a mixture of Jill and Mary, and brings us the news that Joe and one other of our employees are dead, I think former employee Dan G., drowned in the boat.

Oh no, not Joe! It's a terrible tragedy. I think about his wife, losing him so suddenly on such an innocent work-related outing! And also of his band, and the complex project he is working on, which will suddenly become all my responsibility.
