Water and Eel and Turtle Management | | fritz | Oct 26, 2009 | There's some water coming into the basement, making some slight puddles on the concrete floor, (like those I saw in real life in Petra and David's basement). I follow them to investigate, and find that water has filled up a shower stall several feet deep. It seems like it has been there a while, as there is a large eel and about a half-dozen small soft-shelled turtles living in there.
The eel is very large, probably a foot across, and seems mean. He looks more like a plecostomus. We aren't sure how to get him out. The turtles we can easily catch.
We fix the problem and let the water start draining out, and come back some time later. The eel is all dried out, laying flat but upright on the floor, but we're still afraid to touch him. Them mom starts washing him down with a little water, and he comes back alive. We're still trying to figure out how to get him out of there.
I think we forgot to take care of the turtles, and most of them died or went missing while the water was draining. | Next: Better Get the Dogs |
