I'm walking in the woods with Sydney. It is snowy, and my mother is following my tracks. I'm trying to find a way to sneak up on her, but I can't hide my trail in the smooth, undisturbed snow. I try to move along a fallen log, but the snow gives me away.

So instead I move in a circle, behind some fallen debris, and suddenly sneak up on her, pointing an imaginary gun like an ambush. It's just for fun, and we laugh and continue on together.

We come out of the snow into a clearing, where there is a river making a bend around to the left. Our side is a rocky bank, and the other side is a rock cliff. It's beautiful and sunny, and I take out my camera to take pictures of it. Several of my nieces and nephews are there, and they and Sydney are playing in the river and getting in the shot. It's weird how the camera makes them all seem the same size, even makes Sydney look like one of the kids.

I'm supposed to be guiding us. I should have brought my GPS, but I didn't, though I'm pretty sure I know where we are. I have never seen this river area before, but I think if we follow it around the corner to the left, it will be familiar.

We come to a lodge, which seems to clarify our position. I go in to check it out. There is a large ballroom, which is empty, and another room off to the side which seems to be private. In the lobby is a table with some food on it, and a guy sitting there who welcomes me to a snack.

I try to pick up some cheese, at the same time looking for bread or a cracker to go with it, but the cheese crumbles and I have trouble managing it. In the process I knock a large tray onto the floor, with a few pieces of leftover cake. I don't notice it at first, but the guy points it out and helps me pick it up. I don't think it got dirty, and we put it back on the table.
