| Hello, I'm Your Webmaster, from Portland, Oregon! | fritzJan 31, 2009 | | | Fritz on Middle Sister | Just thought I'd introduce myself! My name is Fritz, and I'm the creator, author, and programmer of capell.org. I also have the distinction of being the most active user, probably coincidentally.
I live in Portland, Oregon, not far from the family homestead in Newberg, Oregon, where my parents still live. We lived in the same house for most of our childhoods, except for a few years wherein we moved to New Zealand. The old house is about 8,000 square feet, so my parents had to have 8 children to fill it. Then we all moved out, so they have plenty of space for projects. All the kids are married now and most have kids; most are within about 100 miles except one brother who now lives with his wife in India. I'm second to eldest.
I have no children of my own, though I live with three cats and a dog and five fish. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering, and work at a company called Audio Precision, designing extremely precise audio test equipment.
In my free time, these days I mostly make music and climb mountains, and do a little web work on the side. I've been in bands for years and years, playing guitar or whatever, though never made much of an impact on the music scene, as yet. Maybe this year.
I have a music website: stoneruins.com
All the bands there are my past and future projects, except "chickenlab" and "crunchkin", who are friends of mine.
I climb with a club called the Santiam Alpine Club. I climbed twelve peaks in 2008. You can see a few pictures from my hiking and climbing adventures here.
I also play a bit of chess, although I wouldn't consider myself a master. I play some online - care for a game?
Capell.org has been running for about 10 years. My brother Steve bought it first, and had a few things posted there, and then got bored of it and turned it over to me. I was working on the family tree at the time, being the de-facto librarian of family history, so I started putting it in a website and eventually opened it up to the world. I work on the website as I have time, adding features as I go along, basically whatever seems like it'll be fun and useful. Any suggestions?
Well, that's my story and for now I'm sticking to it.
Pleased to meet you all! How about you? |
