excellent british film about a talented indian girl and her semi-traditional family living in britain. looks like football (soccer) movie but don't be deceived by the movie box. it's not hokey and the action shots are done quite well. funny at times but turn the volume up--accents are either british, indian, or irish and very thick. lots more to the story and an interesting making-of if you get it on dvd. just a great film--shows lots of indian culture and girls in shorts.

A unique look at coming-of-age Indian girl in modern England who plays soccer wonderfully against her parents wishes, who want her to instead carry on family and Indian traditions. Most delightful watching the young "Rimli" assert herself. One can just imagine...

I really enjoyed this movie as well. I found the cultural struggle interesting and believable.
