I've got two dogs (Charlie and Sydney) and a cat (Vita) in my truck, which is parked at the mall. I'm trying to secure them so that I can go in and do some shopping. The cat is in the cab, climbing on a pile of stuff. I put the dogs in the back, but they have to settle among a bunch of other stuff that is back there, like wood and furniture. I'm not sure if I should tie them in; I think they'll stay back there, but I'm not entirely sure. I think I'm explaining this to somebody, but it might just be to myself.

Then I'm trying to close the tailgate, but it just doesn't latch at all, and just falls back open. I slam it again, still doesn't latch. I have to muster and focus all my strength, and then it latches. I think we're ready.
